our minds

I've been reading the book 'The Joy of Living' by Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche recently and the beginning of the book focuses on our mind; what is it? is it one thing? many things? does it exist at all? wow is it the same or different from our brain? our body? our 'self'?
Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche compares the Buddhist science of the mind with the western science of the mind, bringing to light the wealth of similarities.
Later in the book he writes about how we can watch, quiet, and control our minds.Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche

Mind blowing! haha! I'm reading it too, it's so confusing and simple all at the same time. That's life I guess, we go so far to find things that we carry with us all the time.
